New Pitching Coach!

Bare Bones Sports is happy to announce the addition of Rich Barker.  Coach Rich was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 1994 after playing one year at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, MA (yes, he likes his chowdah).  He played 6 seasons of MLB for the Cubs and made it to the big leagues for a few games in the 1999 season.

Coach Rich is a resident of Fountain Hills and has been coaching since he left MLB in 2000.  He has coached at the following levels as well as teaching individual and group lessons.

  • Head Jr High Coach Surrey Garden Christian School
  • Head Varsity Coach Surrey Garden Christian School
  • Pitching Coach Salt River High School
  • Little League Coach Minors/Majors
  • Angels Scout Team Coach

Coach Rich is a great addition to our staff.  He is someone who will make an impact on the development of our kids.  As with Coach Mike Heathcott, Bare Bones suggests lessons with Coach Rich for pitchers who have command of the proper pitching mechanics.  He will build on prior lessons and develop your child’s talent.  These children are usually at least 11 years old.  Stay with Coach Rich Barnard until then and keep pounding the basic mechanics.
